Alyssa and Cam | Engagement Session | Circle S Ranch, Lawrence, Kansas

I'm happy to say that this international photography gig has been pretty exciting and successful in 2016, and it looks like it's going to be another fun year of traveling in 2017. In the middle of a crazy autumn season, I jumped on a plane and headed back to my home state! These two love birds are the reason why. Alyssa booked me almost a year ago to photograph her marrying her handsome guy. We've still got about five months until the big day, and the Circle S Ranch in Lawrence, Kansas is everything and more. Sitting on 600 acres, their venue will host an incredible wedding weekend and a surely memorable wedding day, all while surrounded by buffalo, longhorns, and horses.

Engagement sessions really play a big role in the entire wedding experience. I love doing engagement sessions because it gives the couple a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and give us some valuable face time to get comfortable with each other. A downside of international weddings is that I don't always get that face time, and I usually don't get to see the venue beforehand. I'm so incredibly grateful that I was able to make this trip back! Not only were both sessions incredibly fun, I got an in-depth look and opportunity to shoot the venue before the wedding.

Alyssa and Cam have been together for eight years, and these two are making absolutely sure that their big day is the perfect combination of a laid-back, good time with incredible details and an unstoppable love.

Their chemistry is super cute too, and they were naturals cuddled up into each other. We laughed, strategized, went over all of the details, and even saved lives! Plus, the chilly Kansas weather broke for the day and gave us some beautiful sun!

Circle S Ranch has an innumerable amount of settings for the perfect rustic shots, so don't worry, despite the variety of shots from their engagement sessions, we've saved the best for April;-) PS- This was the first time I've ever had to pause a session to help calm and rescue a baby buffalo! Cam was the real hero in that situation though!
